Mets sign veteran pitcher Garcia to minor-league deal

The Mets’ have added a veteran arm to their potential starting pitching staff.

According to MLB.com, the club has signed Freddy Garcia to an incentive-laden minor league deal that could pay him $7.5 million if he pitches in the Bigs.

Garcia won 17 games with the Chicago White Sox in 2006, but has pitched in just 14 games since after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder in the summer of 2007.

Could he make the squad and pitch a no-no? Who knows, but we added him to our poll.
