The Los Angeles Dodgers jumped on Livan Hernandez early and often Thursday night en route to an 11-2 victory to snap the Mets’ one-game win streak.
Hernandez got off to a horrid start, giving up a leadoff ground-rule double to Rafael Furcal during a four-run first inning. Not only did it advance our NoNoHitters.com count to 7,566 New York Mets games without a no-no, but it also forced an update of our No-hitters killed by first at bat page for the 23rd time this season. And things got worse from there, as Hernandez yielded 8 runs on 11 hits and four walks.
Considering I’m running out of things to say about the Mets, I’ll just share a Haiku written this week by my sister Leah and her daughter, Hannah:
Mets are on the tube
Twenty-three innings, no runs
Sadly, I am a fan
