7,598: Mets lose on Molina’s 10th-inning blast off K-Rod

Comeback wasted

The San Francisco Giants’ Bengie Molina hit a 10th-inning homer off Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez to negate a three-run comeback during a 5-4 loss at Citi Field.

Santana took his no-hitter into the fourth inning but lost it with one out on a Pablo Sandoval single, making it 7,598 New York #Mets games without a no-no. He gave up four runs on nine hits and a walk over 6 2/3 innings of work.

David Wright was forced out of the game in the fourth after he was hit in the head by a Matt Cain pitch, but was able to walk off the field.
