Pat Misch threw seven solid innings for his first major league win and the Mets exploded with 16 hits Thursday for an 8-3 sweep-avoiding win over the Colorado Rockies.
Misch lost his no-hitter on a leadoff single by Carlos Gonzalez, advancing our NoNoHitters.com count to 7,616 New York Mets games without a no-no. With that, Misch earns a spot on our newly enhanced No-hitters killed by first at batpage.
Misch yielded just two earned runs on four hits and a pair of walks. Two of those hits marked his only real blemishes – back-to-back homers by Chris Iannetta and Ian Stewart in the seventh.
David Wright went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and leadoff batter Angel Pagan had a 3-for-5 day with one RBI. Daniel Murphy was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the ninth inning.
