7,623: Hamels pitches Phils to 4-2 win over Mets

Mets lose another

Shane Victorino hit three doubles and Cole Hamels dominated the Mets’ lineup Friday for a 4-2 win at Citizens Bank park.

Victorino’s first double was the hit that killed the no-hitter, bringing the count to its new number of 7,623 New York Mets games without a no-no.

Luis Castillo got the Mets’ only RBI with a sacrifice fly to score Wilson Valdez in the seventh. The Mets’ second run scored on a Cory Sullivan double play.

With the loss, the Mets are now 17 games below the .500 mark.
