7,627: Braves shut out Mets 6-0

No .500 with 82nd loss

The Atlanta Braves rode a strong start by Tommy Hanson and a couple of homers and an RBI double by Adam LaRoche for a 6-0 win at Turner Field.

The Braves killed Pat Misch’s chances at a no-hitter in the first-inning with a Matt Diaz single, moving our count to 7,627 New York Mets games without a no-no.

Misch gave up four runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings of work.

With the loss, the Mets fall to 63-82, killing their chances of hitting the .500 mark for the season.
