7,662: Mets top Braves 3-1, reach .500

Back to .500!

RBI doubles by Jason Bay and Jeff Francoeur and a run-scoring sac fly from Henry Blanco led the Mets to a 3-1 win over the Atlanta Braves as New York has reached the .500 mark.

The game featured just 11 hits, six by the Braves and five by the Mets, and Bay had three of them

Niese lost his no-hitter on a Jason Heyward second-inning single, raising our NoNoHitters.com count to 7,662 New York Mets games without one of these rare feats. Niese gave up five hits and five walks over 5 1/3 innings, striking out six along the way.

It was former Brave Manny Acosta who took the win, pitching 1 2/3 innings of hitless ball, while walking just one and fanning three.
