Season slipping away

Rookie Barry Enright held the Mets to just five hits over eight innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks topped New York 3-2.

Enright yielded just one earned run in the eighth on a Josh Thole homer. The Mets’ other run came on an Angel Pagan homer in the ninth.

Mets starter R.A. Dickey again kept the Mets in the game, yielding just three earned runs on seven hits over seven innings. He lost his no-hitter in the first inning on an Adam Laroche infield single off Luis Castillo’s glove for the 7,738th Mets game with no no-no.
