The Mets rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth inning Friday night for a 9-5 win over the Atlanta Braves, letting the team retake the top spot in the N.L. East.

Daniel Murphy drove in two eighth-inning runs with a double,and Jose Reyes and David Wright singled home additional insurance runs. With the Philadelphia Phillies’ 14-8 loss to the Marlins in Florida, the Mets now hold a half-game lead in the N.L. East.

Mets starter Oliver Perez went six innings, giving up four runs (three of them earned) on six hits and three walks. He struck out six. Perez lost his no-hitter in the second inning when Omar Infante led off with a single, making it 7,473 New York Mets games without a no-no.
