7,525: Bosox avoid sweep with 12-5 win

2 out of 3 ain’t bad

The Red Sox avoided a sweep of the New York Mets with their 12-5 victory today, capped by Kevin Youkilis’ three run homer in the seventh inning. Youkilis previously had a home run taken from him via video review.

J.D. Drew paced the Red Sox’ offense with four hits, including the Sox’ first off losing pitcher Tim Redding, making it now 7,525 Mets games without even one no-hitter.
