Clint Barmas’ two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning was the tiebreaker as the Colorado Rockies avoided the sweep at the hands of the Mets in the night half of a day-night double header with a 4-2 loss.
The Mets came back with a solo home run in the bottom part of the frame from Fernando Tatis and brought the tying run to the plate in the person of Omir Santos, who struck out the bottom of the ninth.
The Rockies’ Seth Smith led off the game with a single off starting pitcher Jon Niese, bumping the no-hitter count to 7,583 games without a no-no.
