Of the nine hits total between the Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks in Friday night’s game, four were home runs, including the Rockies’ first hit off starter Livan Hernandez. The home run in the second inning by Mark Reynolds marks the 7,584th game without a no-hitter by Mets pitching.
Daniel Murphy countered with his own homer in the bottom of the second. The D-backs’ Miguel Montero and the Mets’ David Wright traded homers later in the game to bring the score to 2-2. The winning run for the Rockies was courtesy of a wild pitch by reliever Sean Green that allowed Justin Upton to score from third.
