The Mets’ Nelson Figueroa took a no-hitter into the fourth inning, but the Braves’ Jair Jurrjens outdueled him through seven as Atlanta topped New York 3-1 at Citi Field.
Martin Prado led off the fourth with a line single to center to bump the NoNoHitters.com count up to 7,634 New York Mets games without a no-no. Figueroa allowed one other hit – a Yunel Escobar 2-RBI single that scored Prado and Chipper Jones.
Figueroa walked three and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
The Mets’ got their only run in the third with a Luis Castillo RBI single.
