7,716: Mets’ comeback falls short, Tigers top N.Y. 6-5

Comeback falls short

The Mets staged a valiant effort but fell short in their comeback effort, dropping a game to the Detroit Tigers 6-5 at Citi Field Thursday night.

Mets starter Hisanori Takahashi struggled in his start, yielding six earned runs on eight hits and four walks in just four innings of work. He lost his no-hitter in the first inning on a Ryan Raburn single, moving our NoNoHitters.com count up to 7,716 New York Mets game with no no-hitter.

David Wright was 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Jesus Feliciano was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
