7,725: K-Rod blows save for 6-5 loss

Explosive on the 4th

Mets’ closer Francisco Rodriguez couldn’t close the door Saturday, blowing a two-run lead for a 6-5 loss at Nationals Park.

Starter R.A. Dickey threw well, giving up just two runs (neither earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four. He lost his no-hitter on a second-inning Pudge Rodriguez double, advancing our NoNoHitters.com count to 7,725 New York Mets games with no no-no.

Josh Thole was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and David Wright was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
