At least we didn’t start the season by getting no-hit

Well, the count has started up again – 7,807 for those keeping score at home – and at least we didn’t have to update our No-hitters thrown against the Mets page on Opening Day.

We came close last night in the Mets’ opening night 6-2 loss to the Florida Marlins. The Marlins’ Josh Johnson held the Mets’ hitless until the seventh, when Willie Harris led off with a double.

By then, we were already dejected after watching John Buck blast a bases-loaded 2-2 mistake by starter Mike Pelfrey over the right-center field wall in the fourth. Pelfrey otherwise pitched pretty well, but a loss is a loss.
