Another #nohitter … this time Justin Verlander … and no, he’s not on the #Mets (as if there was any doubt).
The Detroit Tigers’ pitcher in Toronto on Saturday tossed the no-no against the Blue Jays during a 9-0 rout. He was actually perfect through 7 1/3, but wound up walking J.P. Arencibia in the eighth. He then got Edwin Encarciaon to ground into a 6-4-3 double play and got the Blue Jays out 1-2-3 in the ninth for the second no-hitter of his career.
His last one came on June 12, 2007 against the Milwaukee Brewers.
So to summarize, Verlander 2, Mets 0.
