7,985: #Mets starter Johan Santana yields a 1st-inning Emilio Bonifacio single for regular season game 7,985 with no #nohitter.
The good news is that it was not Jose Reyes that broke up the no-no!
After Bonifacio’s single, Santana held the Miami Marlins hitless through two outs in the seventh, when Giancarlo Stanton singled and Gaby Sanchez followed with an RBI double that should have been a put-out at home (Mike Baxter bobbled it slightly, Miguel Tejada’s throw to home was slightly off-line and Josh Thole should have handled it). He left the game after a stellar start with nothing to show for it.
The Mets fought back on four straight walks in the bottom of the seventh and a Lucas Duda RBI single in the eighth for a 2-1 victory.
