Mets no-hitter trivia: Robert Carson only Met No. 73 not to throw in no-no

#nohitter trivia: #Mets Robert Carson, who was just called up from AAA Binghamton, is the only uniform number 73 not to throw in no-no.

Both Kenny Rogers and Ricardo Rincon appear on our No-hitters … before they came to the Mets page.

On Aug. 28, 1994, Rogers threw a perfect game for the Texas Rangers, a 4-0 27-up, 27-down win over the California Angels.

In 1997, former Mets reliever Rincon closed out the 10th inning for the Pittsburgh Pirates after starter Francisco Cordova threw nine innings of no-hit ball. The Pirates beat the Astros 3-0 in 10 innings for the first combined extra-inning no-hitter in National League history.
